Local knowledge that matters

What surveying in Monmouth County asks of us.

CAFRA zones along the coast.

Much of coastal Monmouth falls within the Coastal Area Facility Review Act (CAFRA) zone, administered by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection. Whether a property sits inside the CAFRA boundary affects what a project needs before it can move forward. We know which neighborhoods are affected and survey them with the coastal requirements in mind.

Where it applies

Beach and bayfront neighborhoods from the Highlands south through the shore towns.

Coastal flood elevations done right.

Along the shore, the flood elevation certificate is often the document that drives the whole project, from an insurance premium to how high a foundation has to sit. We pull the current FEMA map for your exact address, shoot the elevations in the field, and prepare the certificate your insurer, lender, or building department needs.

What it means for you

An accurate elevation certificate that holds up with FEMA, your insurer, and the town.

Home county knowledge.

Our office is in Matawan, in the northern corner of Monmouth, so this is the terrain we know best. We have walked the bayshore lots, the older grid streets near the rivers, and the larger inland parcels in the western townships. That familiarity shows up in faster scheduling and fewer surprises when a survey reaches the town.

What we deliver

Color drawings, in-state PLS sign-off, and a seven business day turnaround.

Monmouth County questions

Questions we hear from Monmouth County clients.

CAFRA is the Coastal Area Facility Review Act, a NJ DEP program that adds review for certain work in the coastal zone. Many beach and bayfront neighborhoods in Monmouth fall inside it. Send us the address and we will confirm whether your parcel is in the CAFRA area before we start.
If your property is in a FEMA flood zone, your insurer or lender will usually ask for one, and the town may require it for new construction or substantial improvements. We pull the current FEMA map for your exact address and prepare the certificate from field-measured elevations.
Yes. Our office is in Matawan on the bayshore, and we regularly survey the shore towns from the Highlands south. We know the local terrain, the older waterfront grids, and the flood and CAFRA requirements that come with coastal work.
